In a large saucepan, heat the oil on medium high heat. Add the chicken and brown on both sides. Remove and set aside. Add the bacon and fry until browned. Add the onion and saute until translucent. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Add the mushrooms, oregano and capers. Saute until there is no water left.
Add the flour to the saucepan and stir until homogenious. Add the white wine and stir until liquid has thickened and reduced by half. Add the chicken broth and lemon juice and occasionally stir until thickened to desired consistency. The lemon flavor should be very strong at this point.
Add the optional green vegetable, chicken, and artichoke hearts. When the vegetables are cooked, mix in the parmesan cheese and parsley. Serve over pasta, rice or grains.
