Balsamic Steak Sauce

    Steak Sauce Recipe

    Ingredients

    Makes 12 Tbl of Sauce

    Balsamic Vinegar

    1/2 Cup

    Choose cheaper, watery balsamic vinegar for this application

    Onion

    1/2 of an Onion

    Chopped

    Garlic Cloves

    3 Each

    Minced

    Extra Virgin Olive Oil

    1/4 Cup

    Crushed Red Pepper Flakes

    1/4 Tsp

    Parsley, Fresh

    1/4 Cup

    Diced

    Capers

    2 Tbl

    Drained, rinsed, and diced

    Thyme, Fresh

    2 Tsp

    Leaves diced

    Black Pepper

    To Taste

    Freshly cracked

    Preparation

    Step 1, Cooking:

    Simmer the vinegar in a small pot over medium heat until reduced by half, about 6 minutes.  Add onions, garlic, red pepper flakes, thyme, capers, and olive oil.  Return to a simmer until the onions are cooked, about 3 minutes.

    Step 2, Finish:

    Remove from heat and whisk in the parsley.
