This is a tasty salad with just the right amount of umami and sweetness, a great companion for a Thai or Vietnamese meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 Papaya - Peeled and discard seeds and inner membrane. Cut into matchstick pieces.
  • 1/4 of a Cabbage - Shredded
  • 1/4 lb Tomato, Cherry - Cut in half
  • 1/4 Cup Cilantro - Chopped
  • 1/4 Cup Basil, Fresh - Chopped
  • 1/2 a Jalapeno Pepper - Trimmed and minced
  • 2 Tbl Peanuts, Roasted, Unsalted - Chopped
  • 2 Tbl Nuoc Cham Sauce

Preparation

Step 1:

Add papaya, cabbage, cherry tomatoes, cilantro, basil and jalapeno peppers in a large bowl. Mix together and add nuoc cham sauce. Sprinkle with peanuts and serve.
