I usually order chicken katsu when we eat at Japanese restaurants. Now I can eat this at home and not have to worry about sodium. We use the versatile 3-Part breaded chicken recipe as the base for chicken katsu and make the tonkatsu sauce. For the chicken and sauce, it's a total of only 249 mg of sodium!
Prepare the tonkatsu sauce. Set aside.
Prepare the Three-Part Breaded Chicken. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Slice the cutlets into thick slices and transfer to serving plates. Drizzle the chicken katsu cutlets with some of the tonkatsu sauce. Serve with small bowls of rice, lemon wedges and extra tonkatsu sauce.
